Prada and Amber Valletta: Now and Then

Prada and super model Amber Valletta go together like Karl Lagerfeld in a suit and black sunglasses.  So it's no surprise to see the fashion icon in Prada's 2013 spring campaign looking as though time has froze just for her.  Compare to this to the blast from the past image of Ms. Valletta in Prada's 1998 spring campaign.  Amor.

We care about what we put in our bodies, so why not care about what we put on our bodies.  Similar to a tasty healthy meal, fashion with a conscious can look and feel luxurious and be quite beautiful.  I love the elegant designs of New York based fashonista, Allison Parris.  I recently traveled to the east coast for a wedding and turned heads with this eco-friendly stunner.  This dress uses fabric made from recycled water bottles.  Yup, I said it, water bottles!  Innovative and fashionable.

Say what you will about the adult romper, but I believe they are by far the best one-stop outfit.  Nothing to think about, nothing to match or coordinate.  Just slip on your complete to-go romper, and you have insta fashion.  To those who believe that rompers are just adult onesies, you are mistaken.  Onesies have snaps.  So there!

Buying local in Hermosa Beach

As much as I love the convenience of shopping at big stores such as H&M, Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's.  Nothing compares to unique finds I discover when shopping local.  This week I walked along Pier Avenue in downtown Hermosa and was dazzled by three stores in particular.  I saw this sheer navy blue dress in the window of Luna G and knew that I had to have it.  I love the brass sequened detail along the cuff and neckline.  Next stop was Details for a pair of of classy sandles to wear with my new ultra fem mini dress.  Finally I topped it all of with a clock ring and a hand made leather tote bag from Amaloa.  All my fashion needs in just one block!
